Custom insoles – we fit them after a foot assessment
Foot diagnostics and made-to-measure insoles
Custom insoles make sense once it is clear how your feet work. We take a wider view, because the position of your feet also affects your knees, hips and spine.
How a foot assessment works
The visit takes 60 minutes and is led by Oksana Holovko, an orthopodology specialist. The aim is to move from “it hurts” to understanding where the discomfort comes from. We only talk about orthopaedic insoles after that.
Your feet hurt or tire quickly
We talk, assess your feet and analyse your gait
We start with a conversation: when the pain appears, what your work and activity look like. Then we assess the position of your feet and body and watch how you walk. If needed, we check pressure distribution on a pedobarograph, a platform you walk across. Bring the shoes you wear most often.
You know whether you need insoles
After the visit you have a clear picture of what is happening with your feet. We tell you whether custom insoles are advisable, which shoe models to choose and which to avoid, and what to watch for during activity. We also agree when it makes sense to come back for a check-up.
Your assessment is led by Oksana Holovko
“I focus on foot biomechanics,” says Oksana Holovko, founder of ORTHOPODO. She has been a podologist since 2009 and is an orthopodology specialist. She also runs training for podologists at our academy.
Orthopodology combines podiatry with elements of orthopaedics and whole-body biomechanics. That is why Oksana does not just look at how your feet appear, but at how they work when you stand and walk. People with a recurring ingrown toenail also see her.
How much custom insoles cost
Prices are approximate. Your podologist confirms the final price after assessing your feet. We will tell you exactly what this amount covers when you book.

What our clients say
Questions about foot assessment and insoles
Does a foot assessment hurt?
No. The assessment is non-invasive, meaning nothing is done to your skin. During the manual check you may feel light pressure or your foot being repositioned. If we use the pedobarograph, you simply stand and walk on it. If anything feels uncomfortable, tell us as we go.
How long is the visit and when do I get recommendations?
About 60 minutes. You get recommendations at the end of the same visit: Oksana goes through what she saw and explains the next steps. You do not have to wait for a separate appointment to hear the conclusions. Oksana will tell you at the visit how long the insoles take to make.
What should I bring to the visit?
The shoes you wear most often. If you wear different shoes for work and sport, bring both pairs. How the sole has worn and the upper has stretched says a lot about how you place your feet. If you already have insoles, bring them too. Test results after an injury are also useful, if you have them.
Can I come if nothing hurts much?
Yes. You can come as a preventive step, for example if you stand a lot at work, play sports or plan to be more active. An early assessment helps spot overload before it starts to hurt and becomes part of everyday life. If nothing needs to change, we will tell you that too.
How often should custom insoles be replaced?
After 12 months we recommend a repeat foot assessment and new insoles. Over a year your shoes, activity and the way you load your feet can change. If pain appears earlier or the insole starts to rub, do not wait until the year is up and book a visit.
What shoes work with custom insoles?
Shoes with a fairly deep and wide inside and a factory insole you can take out. Look for a stable heel and room for your toes so nothing squeezes them. Even a well-fitted insole cannot do its job in a shoe that is too tight or too stiff. At your visit we will tell you what to look for when buying.
