Rehabilitation
Massage, soft tissue techniques, and posture correction to relieve pain.
What does rehabilitation at Orthopodo involve?
Rehabilitation at Orthopodo Center & Academy is a combination of massage, soft tissue techniques, posture work, and conscious movement. The goal is not only temporary relief but a real reduction in tension, improvement in movement quality, and offloading of overworked structures.
We work with the entire myofascial chain—from the feet, through the knees and hips, up to the spine. As a result, rehabilitation naturally integrates with orthopodology: by improving foot alignment and gait patterns, we also enhance the comfort of the entire body.
⚠️ When is it worth seeking rehabilitation and an orthopodological consultation?
- When is it worth seeking rehabilitation and an orthopodological consultation?
- You notice gait disturbances or incorrect alignment of the feet and posture.
- Your legs tire quickly or you experience discomfort while walking.
- You notice changes in body posture (e.g., a slouched silhouette, anterior pelvic tilt).
- You lead a sedentary lifestyle or work at a computer.
- You have suffered an injury or want to prevent overloads.
The combination of rehabilitation and orthopodology allows for a comprehensive approach to ensuring proper movement and the comfort of the entire body.
How does a rehabilitation visit proceed?
1. Interview and functional assessment
At the beginning, we discuss your ailments, tensions, and daily habits (sitting, standing, sleeping, physical activity). We perform a brief assessment of your posture and range of motion to identify overloaded areas and zones with limited mobility.
2. Manual work: massage and soft tissue techniques
Next, we move on to manual therapy: working on muscles, fascia, and periarticular structures. Techniques are selected individually—ranging from gentle, relaxing methods to deeper work targeted at specific pain points.
3. Posture and habit management
To conclude, we discuss simple recommendations for daily life: ergonomics at work, how to sit and rest, and—if necessary—exercises that help maintain the effects of the therapy.
What ailments do we most often alleviate?
Rehabilitation at Orthopodo is particularly helpful when you are struggling with:
- chronic pain in the neck and cervical spine,
- tension in the shoulder and shoulder blade area,
- lower back pain or a feeling of “stiffness” in the back,
- overload after physical work or intensive training,
- muscle pain after prolonged sitting,
- general fatigue and body stiffness related to stress.
What effects can you expect?
Immediately after therapy, many people feel a significant reduction in pain and tension, a sense of “lighter back,” and greater freedom of movement. Sleep quality and a general sense of relaxation often improve as well.
The best and most lasting results are achieved through a series of treatments—combined with changes in daily habits, simple exercises, and, if necessary, correction of foot alignment and gait patterns. This prevents the body from quickly returning to previous overloads.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will rehabilitation and massage be painful?
We always adjust the intensity of the techniques to your sensitivity and the goals of the therapy. Sometimes, during deeper work, a sensation of “good pain” may occur, but it should not be unbearable. You provide us with ongoing feedback on how you feel—therapy is a collaboration, not a matter of forcing yourself to endure pain.
How many visits will be needed?
There is no single, fixed number of visits. Rehabilitation is conducted in individual therapeutic courses tailored to the patient’s needs. After completing a series, maintenance visits are recommended to sustain the effects of the therapy.
An important element of the process is also regular home exercises selected by the physiotherapist. The initial consultation allows for the establishment of a preliminary therapy plan.
Do I need to prepare for the visit?
All you need is comfortable clothing that does not restrict movement (e.g., leggings, sweatpants, a t-shirt). If you have imaging test results (X-ray, MRI, ultrasound) or recommendations from a doctor, you can bring them with you. It is also a good idea to plan some quiet time after the visit so the body can “absorb” the work performed during therapy.
