Podiatry
Professional foot care, removal of lesions, and conscious pain prevention.
What does podiatry at Orthopodo involve?
Podiatry at Orthopodo Center & Academy is not just about “foot aesthetics.” It is medical care focused on the health of the skin and nails, walking comfort, and preventing the recurrence of problems. We work both with people who struggle with painful conditions and with those who want to care for their feet preventively.
During the visit, we remove existing issues (calluses, corns, cracks, hyperkeratosis), treat the nails, and recommend appropriate home care. Each procedure is preceded by an interview and assessment of the condition of the feet—so that the treatment is safe even for people with accompanying conditions (e.g., diabetes).
⚠️ When is it worth scheduling a visit with a podiatrist?
It’s worth visiting a podiatrist not only when pain appears, but also preventively to avoid problems in the future.
- Your feet, heels, corns, or calluses hurt.
- You have cracked heels or recurring calluses.
- Your nails are thickened, deformed, or ingrown.
- You feel fatigue or discomfort in your feet.
- You have diabetes or your feet require special care.
- You want to take care of your feet before problems appear.
A preventive visit to a podiatrist allows early detection of abnormalities and helps maintain foot health in the long term.
What does a podiatry visit look like?
1. Interview and assessment of foot condition
At the beginning of the visit, we talk about your symptoms, accompanying conditions, medications you take, and your previous foot care routine. We assess the condition of the skin and nails, the presence of changes (calluses, corns, cracks, warts), and how you load your feet on a daily basis.
2. Treatment of skin lesions and nails
Using specialized podiatry tools, we gently remove hyperkeratosis, calluses, and corns, treat heel cracks, and care for the nails. The procedure is performed in the least uncomfortable way possible, while maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.
3. Final care and home-care recommendations
At the end of the treatment, we apply appropriate care products (e.g., moisturizing, softening, regenerating) and then provide home-care recommendations: which products to choose, how often to use them, and what to avoid (footwear, habits) so that the results last as long as possible.
The most common problems we work with
As part of podiatry at Orthopodo, we most often deal with:
- calluses and corns that make walking difficult,
- cracked heels, painful fissures, and hyperkeratosis,
- thickened and deformed nails (also post-traumatic),
- excessive keratinization of the skin on the soles,
- diabetic foot prevention,
- general foot care for people who stand a lot or train regularly.
Podiatry results and prevention
The result of a well-performed podiatry treatment is not only pain relief, but also noticeably smoother, more elastic skin on the feet and greater walking comfort. Equally important, however, is prevention—proper home care, well-chosen footwear, and regular follow-up visits before changes become painful again.
After the treatment, you will receive specific guidelines for further care: how to take care of your feet daily, which products to use, how often to perform exfoliation or apply cream, and when it is worth scheduling the next follow-up visit.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is a podiatry treatment painful?
In the vast majority of cases, the treatment is well-tolerated. You may only feel slight discomfort in particularly sensitive or heavily overloaded areas. We work gently and gradually to avoid causing unnecessary pain.
If necessary, we use soothing and protective products that increase comfort during the procedure.
How often should you use podiatry / podological pedicure?
The standard skin renewal cycle lasts about 28 days, which is why a podological pedicure is recommended to be performed regularly every 4 weeks.
In some cases (greater strain, pathological changes, diabetes), visits may be required more frequently.
After the first visit, we will establish an individual care and check-up plan tailored to the needs of your feet.
Do I need to prepare for the treatment in any way?
No special preparation is necessary. It is sufficient to wash your feet thoroughly on the day of your visit and wear comfortable footwear. If you have any medical test results (e.g., related to diabetes, vascular diseases, or past injuries), you may bring them with you.
If you are taking blood-thinning medication or have a chronic illness, please inform us during the consultation before the treatment.
